Pennycombe is a spacious, newly decorated cottage with its own large private enclosed garden. The cottage sleeps up to six with spacious rooms, large enclosed garden and private courtyard parking in a peaceful, secluded location with glorious views and heavenly birdsong! Downstairs: Large sitting room, recently decorated, inglenook fireplace with wood burner, two sofas and armchairs to seat 6 comfortably, it has a 40″ Smart TV & DVD and a door out into the garden. The large kitchen/dining room seats up to 6 around a central pine table. The fully equipped kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and has French windows leading out onto a sunny terrace and large lawned garden (ideal for children and dogs). There is a shower room with separate WC and a storage/coat cupboard off the kitchen. Upstairs: One double bedroom with excellent cupboard space, one twin bedroom also with lots of cupboard space and one bunk-bedroom (3ft wide adult sized pine bunk beds with mattresses). Bathroom with bath, hand held shower, wash basin and WC. The landing has a fitted stairgate top of stairs and a night-light at floor level outside bathroom door Large enclosed garden with terrace and lovely views over the River Barle valley and moorland. The garden is a wonderful peaceful space with abundant birdsong and wildlife. It is well fenced for safety of children and dogs and has a corner gate with direct access into larger paddock area with a shortcut path down to the village pub, shop and tearooms. Parking is immediately adjacent to the cottage in a private courtyard. Pennycombe Cottage is a comfortable and characterful cottage with lovely views from all the rooms. The cottage accommodates 6 people with ease, but is popular with couples or smaller parties who want a cottage with more space. There is additional accommodation available in our three other cottages which accommodate 2, 3 and 5/6 people also with private gardens and parking.

There are beautiful beaches along the spectacular North Devon coastline which is just a short drive from Withypool. Exmoor offers something for everyone, whether you are looking for a quiet break away from the hustle and bustle of current day living, or an active break for you and your family. For an active holiday there are miles of wonderful walks or cycle rides, or horse riding across the myriad of bridleways over the moor. Fishermen can fish beautiful fast flowing rivers or still waters or take a boat sea fishing from various coastal ports. We can advise on local walks, local riding stables and fishing on the River Exe (trout & salmon) or local still water reservoirs (trout or coarse fishing). Or just unwind by visiting one of the fabulous open gardens or National Trust houses within a short drive of Pennycombe Cottage.
