Join us for a luxury treat at The Lakeview Retreat: A spacious newly refurbished, first floor apartment located in the stunning Lake District just a short 10 minute walk from Lake Windermere and the local attractions and eateries in Bowness-on-Windermere. The apartment is opposite open country and natural woodland, where you can begin exploring the many wonderful walks the Lake District has to offer. Brant Fell trail is a 5 minute walk from the Retreat. We have lots of home comforts waiting for you including toiletries, hairdryer and washing machine. Free parking is available for 2 cars on a quiet cul-de-sac. Note: there is quite a steep hill from Bowness centre to the apartment which takes about 10 mins. The hill may be unsuitable for wheelchairs and guests with mobility issues. In our spacious living area, we have a double bed settee and a single sofa bed which look out onto spectacular views of Lake Windermere. Our dining area comfortably seats 6 people and we even have a hammock to relax on lazy days. We have a large smart TV with FREE Netflix and Sky Sports and lots of board games and cards plus leaflets on walks, what to do and where to eat along with our own recommendations.. We have 2 good size double bedrooms. One with a King size bed, one with two single beds. We provide wardrobe space and a dressing table area. A working space is also available with a desk area. We have a highchair and travel cot available for your convenience as well as a stairgate to keep your little ones safe. Please bring your own cot bedding. We have a BBQ and patio furniture in our private garden for those warm summer days to relax in after a day exploring the wonderful lakes. There is parking available for 2 cars in front of the apartment. We welcome 2 small well behaved dogs free of charge and have dog beds and treats waiting for them. Please note we are unable to accommodate hen, stag or similar parties.

Windermere centre is easily accessible via the A555 bus from the centre of Bowness or a 3 minute drive by car. The nearest train station is in Windermere 1.5 miles away. The Lake District is renowned for its many walks and trails for all abilities. We have walking guides in the Retreat and a special guide book for dog walks and dog friendly cafes along the way. If you are interested in the Orrest Head trail and don’t have a car, you can walk 10 min walk into Bowness town, get the A555 bus and that will take you straight into Windermere. Brant Fell trail is right on your doorstep, just a 10 min walk. Windermere Golf Course is only 2.3 miles away for golf enthusiasts. The Lake District has many wonderful villages full of character including Ambleside, Grasmere, Keswick, Newby Bridge, Kendal where you will find a plethora of shops, cafes, restaurants and cultural activities as well as numerous walks and activities to please all ages.
