This property is well known in the local area due to it's unusual name and because it was a pub until 1997. We have been renovating and restoring the property since 2007 and continue to do so. We have also been to the local archive centre to research the previous land lords & ladies and general history. A folder is available in the guest dining room for guests to read through and it is a popular story at breakfast time.
We moved to Halstock West Dorset from Kent in 2007 and have never looked back. We really enjoy living in and restoring the Quiet Woman and the West Dorset location is fabulous. Surrounded by countryside and just a short drive to the Jurassic coastline, it is a lovely place to live and visit.
We live in a rural village. There is a mix of the old ways and the new here, tractors and livestock share the lanes with cars cyclist and horse riders. We have a fantastic reservoir just along the lane and excellent country walking routes on our door step.
