Ideally located on the historic street of Sheppards Barton, right in the centre of the beautiful market town of Frome.
Rose & Star Cottage used to be one of the houses provided for the workers in Frome’s busy weaving industry by the Sheppard family. Only a 30 second walk to Frome’s main attraction Catherine hill. A wonderful cobbled high street, jam packed with quirky cafes, restaurants selling a delicious range of cuisines and local independent shops displaying their wonderful colourful and mostly handmade wears.
Our two bedroom cottage has just been fully renovated to the highest standard with all the mod cons whilst keeping the original historic character that the property deserves. There are gorgeous views of Frome to enjoy from the top bedroom with its freestanding bath and vaulted beamed ceiling and also the back garden(under construction from April 2024, so no access at present). We know your stay with us will leave you with the fondest memories of a cosy but luxurious stay with the added bonus of the convenience of exploring Frome within minutes of the cottage.
Just to note - the stairs in the cottage are steep, so the elderly, mobility issues+ young children may find it challenging to get to the upper floors.
There are gorgeous views of Frome to enjoy from the top loft bedroom. On a clear day you can see the beautiful Westbury White Horse and Cley Hill (see if you can spot them)
There is a king size bed which you can snuggle up in and watch the flat screen tv with inclusive streaming services.
Bath towels are provided.
The bedroom on the first floor has two twin beds that can be pushed together if desired. This room has a wardrobe with hangers and a full length mirror.
The bathroom on the first floor has a monsoon shower with the option of a hand shower.
The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, drinking/wine glasses mugs and cooking utensils. There is a boiling hot water tap, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, fridge and tiny freezer.
Hi there
My name is Aimée and I absolutely love our beautiful cottage and I’m passionate about our guests having an exceptional experience during their stay at Rose & Star Cottage.
Renovating the whole cottage at the end of 2023 was a labour of love whilst mothering two young children, but I’m sure you will agree when you stay that it was all worth it!!
We kept the grade 2 listed character property feel but will all the mod cons and comfort of 21st century living.
As in the description, the cottage couldn’t be in a more ideal location, right at the top of Catherine hill which is Frome’s No.1 attraction with all its vibrant, independent, quirky shops and cafes to enjoy a delicious pastry whilst people watching.
Bar the above love of mumming and cottage/ guest experience satisfaction.
I enjoy walking our border collie Pluto and supporting people to live great lives through my life coaching business.
Always reach out with any questions. I’d love to help 🤍
