The Old Farmhouse is the ideal accommodation for families or friends to want the space to spend time away together in the Cambridgeshire countryside. The home sleeps up to 10 in 5 double all en suite bedrooms, an 8 person hot tub, well equipped kitchen, living room with wood burner and 50" smart TV, kitchen, dining room with table that seats 10, WiFi throughout and lots of sociable space inside and out. The downstairs bedroom can be configured as a super king or twin and has an en suite wet room. An upstairs bedroom can be either a king or two small (2ft6) singles, perfect for children. One bedroom upstairs has an en suite bathroom, the others are shower rooms. The large fully enclosed garden and walks from the doorstep are great for dogs. The house was opened for guests after complete renovation in late 2021. The farmhouse is level access downstairs, with ramps to the kitchen and downstairs bedroom, so the downstairs is accessible for wheelchairs. The Old Farmhouse adjoins our smaller holiday home, The Maid's Cottage. If you are looking for extra room, the cottage provides a separate living, dining and cooking space as well as a full bathroom, bedroom with king sized bed and its own hot tub, in its enclosed garden. There is a double sofa bed for additional guests. As the gardens are separated by a high fence, booking The Maid's Cottage additionally provides you with extra privacy from noise, even if you don't require the additional space. If you decide to book The Old Farmhouse, we ask that you respect the privacy of our neighbours. Our Hot Tub is available free of charge to over 16's bathing with others and over 18's lone bathing. The renovation of The Old Farmhouse at Roughs Farm Retreats was undertaken by myself (Hannah), my Uncle Tony (who lives at Roughs Farm) and my mum, Rosie who are all partners in me in the family farming business and opened in late 2021. We are arable farmers and fit the running of our holiday lets around our normal farming activities. You may see our combine and tractors during the year and hopefully experience our biodiversity as you walk around the farm. We welcome any questions about the farm and how we aim to farm with nature.

From your doorstep you are able to walk and cycle for miles to nearby nature reserves, the village of Sawtry and woods beyond. The towns of Huntingdon and Oundle and City of Peteborough are a short drive and offer open spaces, shopping and historic and cultural things to do. Cambridge and Stamford are a 30 minute drive away in good traffic. We offer a guide book to all future guests with lists of outdoor and indoor attractions, experiences, museams and cultural experiences and child friendly attractions as well as places to eat within driving distance from The Old Farmhouse. We recommend that visitors have access to a car if they are planning to explore the local area.
