Our home was built around 1897 as a small farm and village shop. Many of the locals can remember buying their sweets after School in the shop, which is now used as our breakfast room. Guests have said there is very friendly atmosphere here and say that they sleep very well in their rooms. Recently we have decorated the Guests lounge which has views over the church, an open fire (if you would like it lit please only ask) 5 soft chairs and 4 chairs around a high table for playing games (chess, cards, table skittles, pictionary, charades and many more). We also have a selection of dvds that you can take to watch in your rooms. We also have a bookcase with books you can borrow or exchange. If you're walkers we have a selection of walking books and maps available to borrow and we'll do our best to come and find you if you get lost.
Thank you for taking your time in looking at our B&B. If you do decide to stay with us we will do my best to help you with any of your arrangements so you can relax and enjoy. . Our home is your home for your stay.
We are very lucky to live in a lovely, active community. Surrounded by hills running down to our stunning lake. The lake is a great place to walk, cycle, run or picnic as once down there the path is flat and gravelled with plenty on benches to sit to enjoy the view. Great walks can be taken from the house up onto the Mendips... Cheddar can be reached in 2-3 hours. We pride ourselves with 3 very good pubs each one offering their individual charm. We are very close to Coombe Lodge (very popular for weddings and functions) and Yeo Valley (who are now offering a fantastic breakfast, coffee, lunch and tea service.. all organic) Blagdon has playing fields and a newly furbished playground. We have fishing, horse riding, dry ski slopes and caving within a couple of miles.
