Beautiful cottage, very comfortable for 8 people. The kitchen is very well designed and equipped. The downstairs bathroom is also well designed. Upstairs is a bit more of a quirky cottage feel with creaky floorboards and a nice seaside theme.

Hester is a fantastic host. The location of the property with the views and short walk to Bow Fiddle Rock are amazing. Great base to travel to other towns or to just head out walks each day. We really wish we were staying longer!

Great location. The property had good facilities and the welcome pack and extra touches were thoughtful and much appreciated. Our grandson enjoyed the variety of toys in the cottage.

The kitchen was perfect. Large table and very spacious. Yes, some floor tiles need replacing and could do to have more forks, but we loved it.

Great location. Easy parking outside. Lovely village and very close to walk to the harbour, pub, fish and chips and local shop. Downstairs bedroom and en-suite was ideal as one of our party has mobility issues. Lovely large kitchen/diner.

The cottage was quaint but modern and well fitted out. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen well set up with everything we needed. The showers and bathroom facilities were excellent. Thought had obviously been put into the decor and design...

Seaspray is a traditional stone built fisherman’s cottage in the pretty conservation village of Portknockie on the north east coast of Scotland. It’s light and bright yet a cosy retreat from those bracing, salty coastal winds. Although quaint to look at from the outside, inside it is tardis-like with 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms. A small but colourful and pretty back garden, allows you to enjoy the premises from the outside too.
Our young family made an escape to the coast a few years ago when we moved to NE Scotland from Edinburgh. Seaspray was our home for a couple of years before work opportunities moved us on. Having fallen in love with the coastline and the cottage, we couldn’t bring ourselves to part with her, and so our hosting life began. We are so happy to be able to share our home and the beauty of the Moray coast with others. Unfortunately we are not close enough to meet you in person but we are happy to help in any way we can and are contactable by text or email. If it is urgent assistance you require please telephone/video call. WiFi calling or WhatsApp will probably be the most reliable ways to do any of the above.
The village is well placed for a variety of activities. The village beach has an original 1930’s ‘paddler’ which, alongside canoeing, kayaking, sailing, paddle-boarding and wild swimming, is very popular in the summer months. Nearby Cullen beach is a glorious stretch of beach and walkable along the clifftops, from the cottage. There is also a golf course by Cullen beach (one of many along the coast) which must have one of the nicest views from any golf course! Other beaches of note are Sandend, popular with the local and visiting surfing community, Kingston and Lossiemouth. The Moray coast is popular with walkers and often small groups are seen passing through the village. The area is also on the doorstep of the famous Malt Whisky Trail. Several distilleries are dotted along the coastline, some in production, others of a time gone by. Not long a drive inland will take you to the heart of Speyside. There are many historic fishing villages to visit along the coast too, all with their own proud identity and unique charm: Portsoy has delicious ice cream and an ancient harbour; Sandend has a truly unspoilt beach and Portknockie has a vintage (refurbished) paddling pool & award-winning fish & chips that must be tried! It also has the most wonderful sunsets and displays or aurora borealis. Further east is Crovie-worth a visit if you can take the time for the drive. Cyclists pass through the village a lot and there are some mountain biking tracks in the woodland "Winding Walks" approximately 12 miles away towards Fochabers. In addition to all of this, there are historical country houses, ruined castles and abbeys, National Trust of Scotland attractions, 'build you own boat' programs and boutique and mainstream options on the food and drinks scene-seafood featuring prominently of course.
