‘The Hideout’ nestled amongst the beech trees, 10 minutes walk from the road, is a spacious, beautiful, warm, open-plan living space. It has a double bed tucked into its own nook, a log burning stove, sofas, camping style cooking facilities and a covered verandah. It is entirely hidden and secluded and your only neighbours will be the wildlife. There is a compost loo and a stream for bracing washes. Bring a torch and retreat from everything - A Bear Grylls with frills experience!
My family and I love meeting people on their travels and have been hosting for a few years. Both our properties are quirky and unusual and suited to adventurous and flexible travellers wanting to get away from it all and happy to forgo all mod cons for a few days. We will aim to meet and greet you and show you up to the cabin. With notice, we may be able to arrange for the cabin to be resourced with food and drinks. We will be in the vicinity if you need any help, but generally, you will be left to enjoy the privacy and tranquility of the woods.
The Hideout is in private woodlands with streams and a pond. A public footpath bisects the wood and leads down to the village and sheltered bay which is great for swimming. The village has a good pub - The Grampus - often with live music, which serves food. There is also a small craft shop. The village is right on the South West Coast path and offers lovely cliff walks to the Victorian seaside town of Ilfracombe one way, and the surfing beach of Woolacombe the other. Both towns have plenty of choice of restaurants and bars and the former has all necessary food shops and several supermarkets as well as local gift shops. This is a very popular holiday area and Lee really is the jewel in the crown.

Visitors to the Hideout cannot drive up to the property. The property is secluded in the Woodland and visitors must walk up a slope for about 10 minutes to get there, so they should pack light.

The Hideout has an compost toilet in its own small shed outside the property. There is no bathroom, bath or shower. There is a stream shower enjoyed by the adventurous however.
