Wadebridge is just 5 miles away, a charming market town, straddling the River Camel. For those summer afternoons what could be better than a trip to Camel Valley Vineyard. Enjoy sampling award-winning and world-class wines on the terrace overlooking the vineyard after a guided tour and learning how they are made. Skylark's central location allows easy access to both the north and south coast of Cornwall. With beautiful sandy beaches in reachable distance from bustling Polzeath to tranquil Daymer Bay and picturesque Talland and Carlyon Bay on the south. No trip to Bodmin would be complete without exploring Bodmin Moor, the largest section of the Cornwall National Landscape at nearly 200 square kilometres, it is idyllic for walking. Bodmin Moor is an expanse of grassland and heather punctuated by granite outcrops and strewn with boulders. For those interested in a bit of Cornish history, Bodmin Jail is steeped in both social and architectural history, and offers guests an amazing insight into Cornish penal life over the centuries. If you want a bit more time soaking up the local history then head over to the National Trust's Lanhydrock House; a breath-taking Victorian country house set amongst beautiful gardens. The world-famous Eden Project in Cornwall is a great day out for the whole family. Explore the largest indoor rainforest in the world, head over to England’s longest and fastest zip wire and enjoy special events throughout the year. If you are visiting in June, The Royal Cornwall Show is well worth a visit. The three day show invites local brands and business to showcase their products and services.
