Surfers and fishermen can regularly be spotted on the beach and the rock pools are ideal for the little ones to explore. At the end of the bay is the Newbiggin Maritime Centre which has a small museum, café and holds events. The local bus stop is over the road and you can hop on a bus to nearby Morpeth or Newcastle. Morpeth is a pretty historic town with a weekly market and abundance of shops and cafés, riverside boats and a pretty park.
