Our holiday home is a Grade 2 Listed property and therefore has loads of character features, with large fireplaces, sash windows, exposed beams and quarry tiled hearths. It's at least 200 years old, but we think we have the best of both worlds with modern fixtures in a character house.
The house is perfect for a get together with family or a retreat from busy day to day life. You are in the centre of town and may use the wifi, so you can escape from the city but continue working if you wish.
There are 5 large bedrooms and 4 bath/shower rooms. There is a spacious dining room, and a separate large fully equipped kitchen with seating around the granite island.
You can relax together in the characterful snug with a beautiful rich leather suite and stunning exposed brick wall.
A further living room of 5mx4m is located at other end of the house and can be used for entertaining children with DVDs and board games, or as a quiet space to escape for yourself.
French doors from the kitchen and snug lead to the patio, perfect for dining al fresco.
You can make use of the Olympic sized table tennis table for mini competitions with your friends. There is a smaller games room which houses the football table and storage for coats and shoes.
Thank you for considering our home for your holiday. We bought the house in 2016 and spent several years painstakingly restoring it to its former glory. I love old house and architecture, so Marlborough was the perfect spot for us. It’s a listed building, located in the centre of Marlborough with fabulous shopping and places to eat. All my favourite things! We like the great outdoors so Savernake Forest and the Ridgeway offer wonderful walks and great views over Wiltshire.
Marlborough was recently voted one of the best places to live in the UK. Wide variety of shops on the historic high street, twice weekly market with partisan goods, ancient forest of the doorstep - all in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A new cinema provides entertainment and museums and galleries abound. So many bars and pubs to choose from on the High Street which is 1 minute from the house.
Stonehenge is a short drive away and the smaller but no less impressive Amesbury Stone Circle is within 30 minutes. Wiltshire is famous for its White Horses. For serious shoppers, Swindon is only 30 minutes to get north and beautiful Bath is within 60 minutes to the west.
