The village enjoys ample access to Coniston Water lake shore, with Coniston Boating Centre offering paddle-boarding, kayaking, sailing and more. There are also plenty of opportunities for wild-swimming including the lake, beautiful mountain tarns and the picturesque Church Beck river with its stunning waterfalls and deep, crystal clear pools. For cyclists, there are spectacular off-road mountain biking trails including those at nearby Grizedale Forest, as well as some stunning road routes through some of the country's most beautiful scenery.
