I was born and raised in the Scottish Borders at Squirrels' Drey in Innerleithen and enjoyed family gatherings and long summer holidays at Coble Cottage in Craster.
I have now sensitively restored and redecorated both of our family properties in the hope they will charm their future guests, who will come to love the Scottish Borders and Northumberland coast as much as I do!
Innerleithen is a hugely popular town in the Scottish Borders, nestling in the lush Tweed Valley between Peebles and Walkerburn. In recent years a cycle trail along the river has been implemented to connect these towns and it is a lovely way to enjoy the scenery.
The high street offers a selection of shops, baker, butcher, hairdresser, large supermarket, numerous cafes, pubs and take away options.
There is some excellent walking to be enjoyed from the doorstep and some great fishing spots right along the Tweed.
Cyclists come from far and wide to enjoy the challenging mountain biking trails at Innerleithen and Glentress.
There are some fantastic border towns to visit further afield with stately homes and castles aplenty as well as botanical gardens, arboretums and adventure playgrounds.
There is lots to entertain the children in the local area and the sights and delights of Edinburgh are less than 30 miles away.
