St Margaret's Cottage offers four-star, self-catering accommodation for up to four people on Edinburgh's east side - just three miles from Edinburgh city centre and one mile from Portobello beach and town. This detached cottage offers a cosy home from home with open plan living and dining looking onto a small sunny patio and garden, two bedrooms and bathroom with separate toilet on the ground floor also. Upstairs has a cosy, double bedroom decorated in a cosy cottage style. The twin bedroom to the front of the property has views to the infamous Arthur's Seat - an extinct volcano in the city - well worth a heart busting walk up! The kitchen is fully fitted including microwave, washing machine, freezer and a Nespresso coffee maker. The cottage has excellent, free WIFI and bedding and towels are all provided. There is space in the driveway for one guest car just outside the front of the cottage. One well behaved dog is welcome by prior arrangement only at time of booking. Owners must provide dogs bedding and towels and they are not permitted on furniture or beds and must not be left unattended in the property for any amount of time. An additional fee applies of #25 per stay.

St Margaret's is located just 15 minutes' drive from Edinburgh city centre and local buses provide regular transport into the centre every 10 minutes (no 44), with the nearest bus stop just a two minute walk away. Many of our guests opt for this method of getting in and out of the city centre. The seaside town of Portobello is just a short walk from St Margaret's Cottage and has everything from butchers, fishmongers, delis and greengrocers as well as a three supermarkets to lovely bars, cafes and restaurants. We highly recommend a stroll along the Victorian promenade and beach – even on a clear winter's day you can see over the Firth of Forth to the hills of Fife! Other attractions within a short walk of St Margaret's Cottage in Edinburgh include Figgate Park which features a lovely duck pond - with beavers, swans and herons and walk around tranquil, well-kept gardens. Just behind St Margaret's Cottage is Portobello Park and nine hold golf course....so bring your clubs!
