Looking for a cosy and convenient place to stay, as well as somewhere that is peaceful and quiet, from which to explore the delights of Derbyshire? Welcome to Stag Cottage; a self-contained one-bedroom accommodation adjoining a 200 year old farmhouse. Stag Cottage is part of Hayeswood Farm, which sits in its own grounds of approximately 25 acres, and with beautiful local walks a-plenty. The cottage includes a bedroom with attached shower room, and living room with kitchen combined. It has its own entrance, enclosed garden and shared parking space. The kitchen area includes a full size oven, microwave, fridge as well as tea and coffee making facilities. The living area includes a comfortable sofa and Smart TV, as well as a selection of games and books, and boasts a beautiful view of the local countryside, where deer and hare can often be seen. The shower room includes towels and complimentary toiletries. Complimentary welcome treats are included with your stay, including fruit and cereals. There is an honesty box in the stable yard for eggs from our chickens and ducks, as well as surplus produce from our garden (when available). Please note that Stag Cottage is in a rural location and situated up an unmade road.

3 generations of the Hardy family have been living at Hayeswood Farm since December 2024. We are in the process of renovating this old smallholding and lovingly bringing it back to life, with an emphasis on conservation and improving the surroundings for ourselves and the wildlife that lives here. In addition to the local flora and fauna, the smallholding has various livestock, including chickens and ducks, geese, and horses.

Stag Cottage is situated in the middle of South Derbyshire countryside, but is a mere 20 minutes away from Derby City Centre. There are many local walks and trails direct from the cottage, and for golf lovers, Morley Hayes, and Breadsall Priory are both very near.
