This is a family home with a private annex containing two large king size bed en-suite rooms with flat screen tv's. free wifi and Tea/Coffee facilities. We intend to make sure your stay is memorable, providing the upmost care and attention to detail. It is situated half way between the buzzing market town of Bakewell (many pubs and eating places) and the very picturesque Ashford-in-the-Water Village (two good pubs) which are both about a 15 minute walk. At the bottom of the garden there is a stunning walk along the River Wye towards Ashford where you will see waterfalls, weirs, ducks, swans, dippers and of course sheep with lambs in the spring.
Sarah and Andrew will love to welcome you to this beautiful area of the UK. Having lived here for 25 years bringing up a family who have now move away we take pleasure in telling visitors about the best parts. We have traveled extensively and have many stories about our experiences but letting you enjoy the property and advising you on the area is our primary concern.
Our Favourite Pub Venues Little Longstone - Pack Horse Inn- my favourite with great food and beer. (Book in advance) Ashford in the Water - Bulls Head - fantastic pub with good food, lovely ambience and outdoor spaces .(book in advance) Bakewell - Manners - best chef in Bakewell- have the hanging chicken kebab or the duck. (Book in advance) Bakewell - Thornbridge Brewery Taproom - open till 8pm and 10pm Friday and Saturday - good atmosphere, pizza and beer- Bakewell - The Woodyard - trendy venue with Italian bias great outside for evening sun. (Booking required) Bakewell - Rutland Arms Hotel - newly refurbished this is great for coffee, lunch or dinner. Bakewell - Raja’s Indian Restaurant - absolutely wonderful food and lovely people eat in or take away. Stanton-in-the-peak- Childers lots of awards but very simple food and best for Saturday or Sunday lunch stop. Baslow - Prince of Wales Pub Fine Dining (booking required) Tideswell - The Merchants Yard 2 AA rosettes. Baslow - Fishers is Michelin Star. Baslow - Cavendish Hotel.
