Jane and Joe with their daughter Grace are delighted to host you at Swallows Cottage. The cottage is set at the frontage of our Derbyshire farm. We have enjoyed hosting guests for the last twenty years. It is lovely to meet all kinds of people from all walks of life and share our beautiful properties and landscape with them. We feel so fortunate to live in one of the MOST beautiful places in Derbyshire and the rural nature of the location make you as the holidaymaker switch off to the hustle and bustle of modern life. You, of course, use all the cottage modern conveniences plus the wifi or just relax and take in all the beauty that surrounds you. Joe, Grace and myself are farmers as well as holiday proprietors. We have two sheepdogs, Bonnie and Nellie. They love to say hello and football is their game. If you play with them they will be your friend forever. We also have three cats Tiger, Buffie, and Squeaky. Squeaky as the name she can't meow so she squeaks.....As well as our pets we have lambs called cades, bucket reared calves and lots of sheep. To help our guests enjoy and understand our farming world and practices we have written a farm trail providing a farm tour.

Swallows is set in a wonderful setting overlooking the beautiful Wolfscote Dale and Dove Valley with the meandering river Dove below near to the pretty village of Hartington. The perfect place for leisurely bike rides local horse riding at the nearby stables. The pretty village of Hartington is just a short drive or stroll away. Enjoy a Hartington cream tea or produce from the local pubs Charles Cotton and Devonshire Arms, farm shop, cafes and shops. Set on our working farm Wolfscote Grange with beautiful flower meadows, nature reserve and farm trail for you to walk and explore the fauna and archeological features on the farm. The High Peak and Tissington Trail with cycle hire, Carsington water for sailing and watersports are within easy reach. Chatsworth, the medieval Haddon Hall or in contrast Alton Towers Theme Park and spa can all be visited easily. The market towns of Ashbourne (with swimming pool and squash courts ) and Bakewell (famous for its Bakewell Pudding are a short distance both have extensive shops and street markets. The spa town of Buxton boasts the Opera House and Pavilion Gardens only a short drive.
