Mary and I (Martha) are sisters who came to Castleton in 2004 when we escaped from the public sector to buy Swiss House. We only came from Sheffield so we know the surrounding area well.

Informazioni sulla struttura

Swiss House is thought of in the village as a 'new build' because it's only Victorian!! Many of the surrounding cottages are 200/300 years old. However, the Victorians were very good at building with large rooms, high ceilings and big windows, so that's what you'll get at Swiss House - some rooms have sloping beams, you can always phone to check.

Castleton is a small village of about 1000 people but it has 6 pubs and a restaurant to cater to the huge tourist industry that the area attracts. There are 4 show caves in the village and we can talk to you about what each one can offer. the real beauty of this place though is the surrounding hills and moors. We are on the southern edge of the Dark Peak and south of us is the White Peak. Great for walking, cycling, climbing, pot holing - anything outdoors really.
