The Barn is semi-detached and forms part of a non working farm called Higher Boden which comprimises of a grade 11 listed farmhouse and outbuildings which have been converted into other dwellings . There are 4 property's in total including The Barn , it is independent and has its own garden of about an acre and a 1 acre paddock , there is a cart shed and stable block with Table tennis ,attached to The Barn with sole use . The Barn is located on the Lizard peninsula 2 miles from the sea ,at Gillan creek or The Helford River . It is an ideal place for those who want to get away from it all especially those who have active family's as there is plenty to do , including hiking , swimming in the sea , fishing , diving ,horseriding . There are Spa hotels and tennis courts close by . The Barn is 2 miles from Manaccan village itself in a beautiful rural area , the country side is reminiscent of a time forgotten . The old stone Barn has been sensitively converted to accomodate up to 9 people in 4 bedrooms , it is full of simple rustic character and charm . The stable block can provide extra covered space for the kids and has a full size table Tennis table .

We brought The Barn wanting a small shack by the sea but fell in love with the tranquillity and beauty of Higher Boden , it is spacious with a large Garden and plenty of space for our 4 children and all our friends to come and stay with us . The sea at St Anthonys is 2-3 miles away we usually cycle down and swim , everything on the Lizard is accessable the beautiful rugged North side such as Kynance cove and the gentler more lushious creeks like Gillan and Helford . I am a GP and my husband runs a travel buisness ,We do not live at the property but it is a haven to come and relax in and to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life .

Although just that little bit further to get to The Lizard is a very special place and well worth the effort rugged beautiful beaches on West side , luscious protected creeks on the East .The costal path offers fantastic walking . There are plenty of great pubs on the Lizard , Manaccan has the New Inn and there is a restaurant in high season called theSouth Cafe which is excellent . Helford has a shop and delicatessen and the Shipwrights Inn overlooking the creek . You can take the ferry over from here to Helford Passage to another pub called the Ferryboat Inn which has a small beach for kids to play in front of it and great food . Cadgwith Cove is another place and if you go on a Friday night you might be lucky to hear the cadgwith singers belting out sea shanty's . The Lizard has a rugged west side with great walks , Kynance cove , Church cove with a small sunken church in the side . Porthallow has great restuarants including a Rick Steins and you can get surfing lessons on Praa sands . Helston has a Tesco and Sainsbury 's. Flambards amusement park , Gweek seal sanctuary . Riding locally. Its about 45 minutes to Penzance , 50 minutes to St Ives , 1 hour to Truro
