We love travel, reading, good food, walking, music and intelligent conversation. Funnily enough our guests seem to be of a similar mind and we have already met lots of great people, having done one season here already. Recurring comments centre on the welcoming atmosphere here and we have tried to make the whole experience exactly as we would want it if we were the visitors.

We fell in love with The Boat House from seeing it online and it's even better in the flesh. The photos don't truly do it justice as it's hard to capture the property's character or size. The rooms are so spacious, each has a good sized shower room too. This is as far from corporate as you can get - each room is different, colour-themed, with abstract art and plenty of luxurious touches. Hospitality trays include fresh ground coffee and hot chocolate as well as normal and herbal teas plus coffee cafetieres.

The estuary is just over the road and the views are stunning. Having a castle equally close is amazing too. We still pinch ourselves at how lucky we are to live in a gorgeous place that people regard with huge affection.
