The Coorie Inn is a cosy, self-contained apartment with private shower room, at Joppa, Portobello, Edinburgh’s seaside. There are patio doors to the back garden. We only share the front hallway.
PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING. THE BED IS A SMALL DOUBLE. (120cm width) . THE SHOWER CUBICLE HAS A NARROW DOOR, which may not be suitable for some people. The Wi-Fi has been upgraded and now has 10 times speed in September 2024.
The Coorie Inn has a keypad lock which you can programme to your own personal number.
There are 4 buses right beside the property which will get you to Edinburgh (Princes St) in 25 minutes.
There are many restaurants and bars nearby and lots of activities; sailing, swimming, kayaking, beach volleyball, beach yoga etc. There are 3 beaches all within 10 minutes walk.
Newhailes Country Estate (National Trust) is directly opposite the property which has a cafe, children’s play park and a monthly market.
You are located on the John Muir Way which you can walk/cycle all the way to his birthplace in Dunbar.
My name is Barbara. I have lived in Edinburgh since I came down from the Highlands to study and work in medical research at Edinburgh University for 40 years.
I have recently taken early retirement and have started hosting in May 2022.
I am very knowledgeable about all things Scottish - history, local knowledge, art, literature and culture and am happy to talk to you or even take you on a bespoke tour.
I will have minimal contact with guests, but am around on a daily basis.
I have in depth knowledge of all things Scottish and local and am very happy to talk to guests about anything.
There are many great restaurants in both Portobello and Musselburgh. The property is located right on The John Muir way where you can walk/ cycle from Dunbar through Edinburgh and to the west of Scotland. It has a multitude of green spaces around it and is especially good for dog walking.Newhailes Country Estate is just opposite and Portobello and Fisherrow beaches are a few minutes walk. The beach at the end of Eastfield Place is a popular site for birdwatching.
