Company information

Here at Greenwood Holiday Cottages we want to make booking and enjoying your holiday an easy and stress free experience. With no booking fees or commissions when booking direct via our website - you'll always talk to the owner - never a call centre! Both of our beautiful, characterful and very loved cottages are based in Whitby, North Yorkshire and are maintained to a very high standard, to give you the home from home environment that you can't wait to come back to! The Corner House is located on the harbourside, in the heart of the old, historic east side of Whitby, with fantastic views and brilliant places to shop, eat and drink almost literally on the doorstep. The Castle House by contrast is completely different. Located just under a mile from the hustle and bustle of the Town Centre, well away from the crowds, where life takes on a much more leisurely pace. Surrounded front and back with pretty gardens, it also has Sea and Moor views, off street parking for two cars and is dog friendly. It's also perfectly placed to explore the surrounding area by car, on foot or via public transport, with great dog friendly pub and cafe and lovely walks straight from the door!

Property information

Are you looking for a self catering cottage that's fully refurbished with quality fixtures and fittings but which is also incredibly central, with no hills, steep steps or cobbles to negotiate? Well, you've found it here at The Corner House! Here our goal is to provide you with the best self catering experience that we can and we're constantly updating and adding to the cottage, to make it the home from home getaway that you can't wait to come back to. At The Corner House, everything you could want in Whitby is almost literally on the doorstep, from brilliant shops to fabulous places to eat and drink; with real ale pubs that have glorious open fires, for those chilly winter evenings and great Gin menus for all year round!

Neighbourhood information

Come and visit our Whitby, which is nestled along the banks of the natural harbour at the mouth of the River Esk, Yorkshire's only Salmon river, and see how flawless Whitby jet, made famous by Queen Victoria, is turned into arguably some of the most beautiful jewellery in the world. Then wander around its narrow streets crammed full of independent traders, selling everything from dog treats to dinosaurs! The Pannett Park museum and its grisly "Hand of Glory" is another "must see"; together with a visit (or two!) to the many local hostelries, where a thriving live music scene can be found.
