Set in the beautiful Cairngorms National Park, the Cottage Bogroy provides comfortable accommodation for 8 people. With four bedrooms, two sitting rooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and parking space for up to 3 cars, the cottage has everything you need for a relaxing visit. The living room has an open fire, while the kitchen and sunroom have wood burning stoves; perfect for cosy nights in. We are an ideal property for families and groups, with two king rooms and two twin rooms (one on the ground floor). Besides the family bathroom, we have an additional shower room. The cottage overlooks crofts and woodland. Outside we have cheerful flowerbeds and a lawn. Garden chairs are stored inside and can be used when you want to make the most of the weather. Bedding, towels, fuel for the fires, and Wifi are all included. Electricity at the cottage is partly provided by the large array of solar panels on the roof, making us a great choice if you are looking for a low-carbon holiday. These panels also power our electric vehicle charging, which is available for an additional fee. Dogs are welcomed on request and also incur a small charge. Please contact us for more details.
Peter and Marion live in Edinburgh but frequently enjoy visiting the Highlands. They brought a derelict croft house in Carrbridge 30 years ago, originally intending to renovate it. In the end, they decided to build a new house that was sympathetic to the original design and the surrounding area. Since then, they have had many happy holidays there with family and friends. Peter and Marion hope that you will love the Cottage as much as they do, and enjoy your visit to this spectacular part of Scotland.
It is a short walk into the village of Carrbridge, where you will find a corner shop, petrol station, cafes, and a wonderful pub serving local, seasonal food. Carrbridge is also home to the Old Packhorse Bridge - the oldest stone bridge in the Highlands - and the popular Landmark Forest Adventure Park; great fun for all ages. The Cottage is an easy drive to Aviemore, where there are larger supermarkets, pubs and restaurants, a range of local shops, and a tourist information centre. Several outdoor activity operators are based around the town, including bike and ski hire. The wider Cairngorm area boasts some of the UK's most spectacular nature beauty. There is a whole range of activities on offer, including walking, climbing, cycling, water sports, horse riding, golf, skiing, and plenty of wildlife to spot. Further afield, it easy to get to Inverness, Culloden Battlefield, Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, the seaside town of Nairn, the Highland Folk Museum, the Strathspey Steam Railway, and the famous distilleries of the Spey Valley, to name but a few attractions. Whatever your tastes, there is so much to see and do, you are sure to have an exciting and memorable trip.
