Underhill Barn was a working agricultural barn until the early 1980's and dates back to the 1860's. Full of character but with every modern convenience for your comfort. Rated Five Star Gold by Visit England, Underhill Barn B&B is a luxurious, romantic retreat set in the heart of beautiful Southleigh. Good food is at the heart of our guest offer, we have a Breakfast Award from Visit England and provide a four-course, no rush breakfast between 08:30 and 10:15. The Courtyard Suite is a large suite overlooking the flower-filled courtyard. Guests also have exclusive use of the gallery, with a comfy sofa and desk with monitor, useful if you want to catch up on emails or to watch on-demand streaming services. The Courtyard Suite benefits from a large bedroom with two mid-century armchairs in the room and a luxurious marble clad en-suite bathroom with shower.

Ants and Lance, the owners of Underhill B&B Ants’ first job was in Hospitality Management, however his career took a turn and he worked for over 20 years leading digital platforms and teams for many well-known global brands… but his passions lay elsewhere. Food is and has always been his passion – he loves cooking, finding new produce and interesting ingredients and they are keen hosts, regularly entertaining friends and family. Lance worked in the Customer Service industry for over 30 years before diverging into the commercial aspect of providing medical services to private practitioners and the NHS. Monday to Friday he's working but he’s on-hand for weekend guests! We viewed Underhill Barn in Spring 2022. The space for guests, combined with natural light and cosiness it really grabbed us. We've sensitively renovated Underhill to give our guests the very best experience. Southleigh is a working agricultural village with a strong community at its beating heart. Southleigh is a working agricultural village with a strong community at its beating heart. We are just inland from the Jurassic Coast at Beer or Branscombe, only 10-15 minutes drive and we sit between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis, both of which are thoroughly charming and only 20 minutes away by car. Southleigh is set in beautiful rolling hills and woodland. Amazing walks right from our door and we are but minutes from the South-West Coastal Path, where you can take in dramatic views of land and sea. East Devon is a bit of a hidden gem, even in the height of the season it's has a peace and tranquility about it, and the beach at Branscombe is large and never gets overly busy. The produce of the local area is wonderul and East Devon and Lyme Regis in Dorset is blessed with many wonderful Pubs and Restaurants serving delicious locally sourced food.
