Once called “The Globe Ale House” this property sold beer to locals when they finished in the coal mines. The coal from the mines fuelled the furnaces in Ironbridge. These furnaces made and produced the world’s first cast iron bridge – the historical landmark “Ironbridge”. Ironbridge Gorge is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is located just 13 minutes’ walk away. Broseley, located at the top of the Gorge, was listed in the Domesday Book in 1086 and has its very own charm away from the rush of the Valley. From the 16th century it was an early centre for iron work, coal extraction and ceramic production and became a crowded and wealthy centre as one of Britain’s earliest industrial settlements. The old passageways that linked together a higgledy-piggledy jumble of old squatters’ cottages are called Jitties. Sue and Richard moved to Broseley in 2021. After spending three years restoring this beautiful cottage, they want to share the tranquillity with others. Now retired, Sue has 45 years’ experience in hospitality and thinks she has the perfect balance to make your stay perfect. Keysafe entry means guests are free to arrive when they want to and are left in peace to explore the area at their own pace. The property has free wi-fi through out with smart tvs in both rooms. Free on street parking outside property. The owners live onsite and are on hand if any questions or problems arise, giving guests added peace of mind that the house is lived in.
