Set in 400 acres of stunning parkland on the popular Balbirnie Estate, the apartment is in central Fife between Edinburgh and St Andrews. The building and the cobbled courtyard date back to the 1700s when it was part of the estate and housed the stables, coach house, grain store and gardener’s cottage. In the mid-1970s, the building was converted to a craft centre with individual workshops and apartments. The estate has a rich history and was owned by the Balfour family until 1969, and during the 18th and 19th centuries, the estate landscape was designed by Robert Robinson and Thomas White, who created one of the most extensive and significant collections of rhododendrons in the east of Scotland.
