Tucked away in Dunstall Green, The Granary is a detached charming brick and flint cart lodge, styled in the spirit of the 17th century and surrounded by rolling Suffolk countryside. Thoughtfully designed for a peaceful escape, this hideaway sleeps up to three guests across two beautifully appointed bedrooms, including a main bedroom with a 5’ king-size bed and a private balcony, where you can unwind with a glass of wine and watch the sun set over the Suffolk fields.

The Granary is situated in the quiet village of Dunstall Green in West Suffolk and is less than 20 minutes' drive in either direction from Newmarket and Bury St. Edmunds. The area boasts idyllic views of rolling countryside and with an abundance of footpaths, is best enjoyed on foot. The Fox Inn in nearby Ousden serves traditional pub fare whereas the Weeping Willow in Barrow offers a more modern British menu. Newmarket, also known as the home of horse-racing, makes for a great day out. Famous for its horse-racing since the arrival of King James in the 17th Century, Newmarket boasts two racecourses with an exciting programme of racing events throughout the year, as well as music nights and family days. Discover Newmarket has a variety of guided tours where you can go behind the scenes and learn about the history of the sport and the town. You might even be lucky enough to spot some famous jockeys. If horse-racing isn't for you, why not try your hand at making chocolates at Artistry in Cocoa or take a peaceful stroll through the Newmarket War Memorial Garden. Dating back to a time before William the Conqueror, Bury St Edmunds markets are still held each week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The market is an ideal place for grabbing yourself some fresh local produce or even some Portuguese pottery. St. Edmundsbury Cathedral is well worth a visit and Abbey Gardens is beautiful year round. Food lovers will be overwhelmed by the variety of restaurants, pubs and cafes Bury St. Edmunds has to offer.
