Originally an open plan department store, designed and built to a very high standard in 1908, the sympathetic conversion to a self-catering apartment hotel was completed in 2024 so that the building can be enjoyed by a new generation.
The Hazlitt comprises of 18 one and two bedroom self-catering apartments made of both king sized double and twin rooms. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, en-suite bathroom and Wi-Fi throughout.. The interiors feature a mix of contemporary and traditional furniture and fittings. The stunning entrance hall features original tiles which give a warm welcome for guests on arrival.
The apartments are fully accessible by lift and have a private car park available on site.
Reception is manned during normal business hours and arrangements can be made to leave keys in a lock box to allow access out of hours.

Paisley is home to the largest number of listed buildings outside of Edinburgh, local visitor attractions near The Hazlitt include Paisley Abbey; Paisley Arts Centre; Paisley Town Hall; Coats Observatory; Russell Institute; Sma' Shot Cottages; St Mirin's Cathedral and Coats Memorial. Paisley Museum, which is currently undergoing a refurbishment, will re-open in 2025.
For art lovers, there's Paisley's Mural Trail around the town centre which beautifully captures the story of Paisley past, present and future. The project has been created by Paisley First BID who worked with local artists some of the town’s community groups, the murals are a great talking point for the people of Paisley and visitors to the town.
Don't miss the chance to see the Hollywood Boulevard-style, Buddie Walk of Fame with paving stones dedicated to famous Paisley buddies including actors Tom Conti; David Tennant and Gerard Bulter; musicians Gerry Rafferty and Paolo Nutini and artist John Byrne, amongst others dotted around the town centre.
