We currently have two available bedrooms; 'Garden View', a double room with king-size bed and 'Tree View' a twin room with 2 new 3' beds. Each room comes equipped with wardrobe and drawers, mirror, hairdryer, slippers and each has a hospitality tray allowing guests to make their own hot drinks. PLEASE NOTE: Our rooms are NOT en-suite. However the bathroom, with shower over the bath, toilet and wash basin, is just along the hallway and is only shared with guests from the 2 bedrooms. (Your hosts have their own private facilities.) There's an additional toilet facility on the ground floor. Please contact us before booking if you have any queries or if you plan to travel with children. We can accommodate a baby if you bring your own travel cot/bedding. A child (up to 16) may share the kingsize room with 2 paying adults if they don't mind sleeping on an airbed. Downstairs there's a TV Lounge where you can relax in the evenings; watch TV, play board games or read our local tourist information. Breakfast, served in our dining area, will be a simple 'help-yourself' affair offering hot drinks, fruit juice, cereals, yogurt, seasonal fresh fruits, toast, etc. (please let me know when booking if you have any dietary requirements.) There are several shops nearby that cater for take-away breakfast baps or lunchtime snacks. In general, we request that all guests vacate the property between the hours of 10:30am and 4pm unless you've agreed otherwise with the host at the time of booking. All food, including take-aways or ready-meals reheated in our microwave must be eaten in our dining room - cutlery/crockery etc can be provided. Use of the kitchen is by arrangement with the host only. We don't allow smoking anywhere inside the house but should you wish to, we have a designated courtyard where you may smoke.

Noel & Christina (and our friendly labradoodle, Bella) offer you a warm, friendly welcome to our home. Don't get the wrong idea – The Monkey House isn't a residence for monkeys – it's named after the majestic Chilean Pine (Monkey Puzzle) situated in the front garden! It just makes us easy to find!
 Our home is a 1930’s semi-detached property which we had extended in 2000 to accommodate our growing family and our art & design business. Now that our sons have flown the nest we have more rooms than we can use! We love having the opportunity to meet new people from all round the world and enjoy sharing what our lovely town and county of Staffordshire has to offer.

We are a short 10-15 minute drive from the M6 with plenty of free off-road parking on our driveway. Local shops on our doorstep provide most necessities and it's only a short 10-15 minutes walk into the town centre. We're also on a direct bus route to Stafford or the Potteries, with a train station just across town. We're ideally placed with plenty of interesting places to visit nearby including Alton Towers, Cannock Chase, the Peak District, National Trust properties Shugborough Hall and Biddulph Grange Gardens are within striking distance as are Dorothy Clive Gardens, The Peak Wildlife Centre and many historic pottery museums. Trentham Gardens, the Monkey Forest and The World of Wedgwood are just a 10 minute drive away. Stone’s charming town centre is a short 15 minute walk away across the River Trent and the Trent & Mersey canal. With a plethora of excellent restaurants, takeaways and pubs you’ll be spoilt for choice! Stone has a popular monthly Farmers’ Market and a renowned Food Festival held 1st weekend in October each year.
