Welcome to your stylish home-away-from-home, an elegant, recently renovated 3-bedroom house designed for comfort and relaxation. With luxurious furnishings and thoughtful touches throughout, it’s perfect for families, couples, or small groups looking to enjoy the best of Newcastle and the stunning Mournes.
The house features three beautifully presented bedrooms, two with en suites. The spacious lounge includes a comfy sofa bed, and the bright, airy sunroom is ideal for your morning coffee or a relaxing evening in. There is a large smart TV in the sunroom and in the lounge. There is also a double ninja airfryer in the kitchen.
You’ll be welcomed with a complimentary basket on arrival to help you settle in, and if you’re visiting during the festive season, the house is tastefully decorated for Christmas, with seasonal treats and a little surprise under the tree from the man in red. 🎅✨
For outdoor lovers and adventurers, the spacious utility room with its own entrance provides secure storage for golf clubs, mountain bikes, paddle boards, wetsuits or hiking gear, so no need to bring muddy boots through the house. You will find the washing machine/tumble dryer and a sink for all your needs.
Located in a peaceful residential area, the house is just a 5–10 minute walk from Newcastle town centre, close enough to enjoy everything, but far enough out for a bit of peace and quiet. No need to worry about traffic or parking, or those notorious bank holiday queues!
While we want you to feel completely at home, we ask guests to respect our house rules; no parties, stag or hen groups, or late-night gatherings, please.
We can’t wait to welcome you, whether you're here to hike the Mournes, golf at Royal County Down, enjoy the sea air, or simply unwind in stylish comfort.
You'll be hosted by myself, Jennie, a 'blow-in' for the past 18 years, who’s lucky enough to call this beautiful part of the world home! I’ve always loved the outdoors, and when I’m not getting the house ready for guests, you’ll most likely find me hiking the trails in the Mourne Mountains, the Granite Trail is one of my favourites. On sunnier days, I enjoy paddle boarding and swimming at the harbour or down by Bloody Bridge, there’s nothing quite like it.
For a bit of peace and quiet, I often start my mornings with a walk through Castlewellan Forest Park; it’s such a tranquil and grounding place, and I always recommend it to guests looking for a relaxing way to begin their day.
I really enjoy sharing the area with others and love helping guests make the most of their time here. Whether you’re after a good coffee spot, a scenic hike, or the best place to catch the sunset, I’m always happy to share tips.
I hope you’ll feel right at home during your stay, and fall in love with the area just like I did!
You’ll be staying in one of the most scenic corners of Northern Ireland, with so much to see, taste, and do right on your doorstep.
Foodies are in for a treat, with a great selection of restaurants and cafés nearby. One standout is Golf Links House, known for its delicious food and welcoming atmosphere, it’s a firm local favourite. If you’re after a great coffee, Base Coffee is the go-to spot, and for something sweet, Morelli’s Ice Cream is always a crowd-pleaser (you’re never too old for a scoop by the sea!).
Outdoor lovers will be spoiled for choice. You’re perfectly placed for hiking in the Mourne Mountains, with trails for every ability-don’t miss the Granite Trail for stunning views. Castlewellan Forest Park is just a short drive away and offers beautiful walking routes, mountain biking trails, and peaceful lake views. And if you’re into water sports, you can try paddle boarding or sea swimming nearby.
For golf enthusiasts, you're in for something special-Royal County Down Golf Club, one of the world’s top-ranked courses, is just minutes away. If you're lucky, you might even catch a sneaky glimpse of the fairways from one of the bedroom windows.
Whether you're here to unwind, explore, or do a bit of both, this area has something for everyone.
