The Old Map Shop is a Victorian Building which in the past has served as a village school and a chapel, before being used as a shop selling historic maps. It was renovated and converted into a holiday home in 2021.
I am grateful to live in Cumbria and glad to welcome guests to this beautiful county. I like to travel and have enjoyed the hospitality of Airbnb hosts all over the world.
I respect guests’ privacy, but please do not hesitate to contact me before or during your stay if I can be of help to you. In addition to English, my partner speaks some basic French, Italian and Spanish.
We live a short distance from the Old Map Shop and are available via text or e-mail to answer any questions.
The village of Caldbeck is in the quieter Northern part of the Lake District National Park. It is a great base for walkers and is on the Cumbria Way. It is a 25 minute drive to Keswick and to the historic city of Carlisle. There is a village shop and a well-reviewed pub, as well as gift shops and cafes.
