My name is Carol. Peter & I moved here in 2012 to get away from the rat race. We succeeded big time :-) I am a Mum, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Supply Chain Expert, Scout, Project Manager, and I believe in helping others, trying to leave the world a better place, and laughing as much as I can. I love welcoming people to our home, in a quiet rural location and is a wonderful antidote to 21st century living. It's great to see people's shoulders relax as they settle in to the pace of Dalavich. I love meeting people & their pets and enjoy getting know them. We will chat to you if you want, leave you alone if you prefer, offer advice now hat to do if you ask, help wherever we can.

Guests describe our property as unique, quirky, great, fabulous. The building is an old wooden school built by the Forestry Commission in 1952. High ceilings in 3 of the 4 apartments (old classrooms), in the middle of the village 2 minutes walk from the loch. The car park is the old playground and the school field is open to guests. We are 14 miles down a single track highland road. Enjoy the experience, take your time & lots of photos but please don't expect to whizz along it! This is a get away from it all chance to recharge your batteries and spend time exploring the local countryside and local (in Argyll speak) tourist attractions. We are slowly working our way around the property dealing with years neglect and steadily improving the place. It's a huge property and the task will never be complete but it now looks cared for and all the urgent stuff is done. We are now in a program of redecoration, that our guests have given us great feedback on. We love it here and many of our guests come back time and again. We hope you will too!

Dalavich is a small community of just 40 or so properties. It will take you 30 minutes to get out of the glen. Kilmartin is the closest attraction and it is fascinating. Learn about Dalriada (the ancient name for this area), explore ancient history, enjoy the museum and cafe. On a sunny day you cannot beat Crinan Canal and Crinan itself - make sure you have plenty of battery in your camera! Take a trip to Inveraray (1hr 45mins) and visit the Jail and Castle; take in Loch Fyne Oyster Bar for a truly delightful dining experience. Then of course, you must do Seil and the Atlantic Bridge (it really is a Bridge over the Atlantic). Don't miss Oban, the Oban Chocolate Factory, Ee-Usk (best Fish restaurant for miles) or Mccain's Tower.
Plan a day out to Mull, do the Corryvrekan Experience, link up with Loch Vision for a photography experience, walk Ben Crucan, hire a boat, or hire bikes. If you are here between Thursday and Sunday then Loch view Grill & Bar is a must. Come when there is Ceilidh on and have a ball. Or just walk locally, enjoy the peace, and watch out for the Ospreys, Golden Eagles, Swallows, Pine Martin, Red Squirrel, Deer, Bats, and a myriad of other wild-life.
