The Gardener's Cottage dates back to when the Estate employed 14 full time gardeners and The Orangery is the Grade II listed orangery built to provide the Hall with exotic citrus fruits.

Nestling in the South Shropshire countryside, Ludlow was described by Sir John Betjeman as "probably the loveliest town in England". It is bursting with beautiful half timbered buildings, cobbled streets and history. One of the key attractions is the medieval castle perched on the cliff over looking the River Teme, which served as the headquarters of the Council of Wales from 15th to 17th Centuries. Today it is home to medieval fayres and the Ludlow Food Festival. Food and drink is one of the reasons many visitors come to Ludlow. In addition to the Spring and Autumn Food Festivals, the many delicatessens, bistros, cafes and restaurants serving local Shropshire produce, visitors can enjoy the summer Magnalonga, an 8 mile walk through the Shropshire countryside enjoying food and drink along the way.
