*** New for 2021 We are now proud to announce the opening of 3 brand new Holiday let homes on site which include a welcome hamper *** The Trotting Mare Caravan Park is an adults only park, open all year round situated between the historic village of Overton on Dee (near Wrexham), and the Lakelands of Ellesmere (Shropshire). The grounds are uniquely located on the border joining North Wales and Shropshire in England upon the A528. This being the last and first gateway into and out of Wales.
Gary lives on site and is there to welcome you to the park and provide any help to make your stay a memorable one.
On the Welsh side we are located close by to the quaint village of Overton on Dee which has the River Dee flowing by with some lovely walks and the Bangor on Dee racecourse is 2 miles from here. Llangollen is 8 miles away with restaurants, shops, steam railway and home to the Eisteddfod. On the English side there is Ellesmere in Shropshire with all facilities you need such as shops, pubs, bank, supermarket and a delicatessen. Alongside Ellesmere is a Mere full of wildlife and the Boathouse Restaurant serves coffee, snacks, lunches, afternoon teas etc. The historic town of Shrewsbury is 16 miles away.
