The nearby town of Castle Douglas is the region’s Food Town, where holidaymakers will find a wide selection of independent butchers, delis, chocolatiers and cafes. With the beach just meters from the front door, The Vital Spark is a great holiday destination for those who enjoy wild swimming and water sports like windsurfing and kayaking, or for children who want to rock-pool, paddle and build sandcastles. It would also be the ideal location for wildlife enthusiasts, with RSPB and WWT reserves only a short distance away. For guests with children in tow, the nearby Cocoa Bean Factory and farm parks of Mabie and Dalscone, in Dumfries, offer a fabulous day out.
