**Woodpeckers** is a private annexe attached to our house, featuring its own entrance and a private patio area with a charcoal BBQ. The accommodation includes a fully fitted kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, electric oven, refrigerator with a small freezer, kettle, and microwave. Tea and coffee are provided for your convenience. The lounge area has a smart 40-inch TV and a comfortable sofa, which can also be converted into a sofa bed if needed. The bedroom contains a king-size zip-link bed that can be separated into two single beds upon request. Complimentary soaps and shampoo are provided for your stay. Guests have access to the pool from May to mid-September. We are dog-friendly and welcome one well-behaved dog. Please note: - Being attached to our house, some general family and pet noises may be heard. - The annexe is located next to the road, so some traffic noise may occur.

Welcome to Ferndale Holiday Lets. My name is Debbie, and my co-host is Brian. We have lived here at Ferndale for 14 years. We enjoy spending time outdoors in our garden; I particularly like tending to my vegetable garden and caring for my rescue hens, who have been with us for quite some time. We also love walking our new puppy, Dougie, who you will likely see and hear playing in the garden. He adores exploring our beautiful local countryside on walks. We look forward to welcoming you to our annexes. You may see us around occasionally, but please note that Woodpeckers and The Squirrels have their own separate entrance, parking, and patio area. The village of Alresford in Essex is conveniently located near the University of Essex in Wivenhoe and is close to the coastal area of Brightlingsea. Alresford Creek features a beautiful riverside walk that extends to Wivenhoe and continues on to Colchester, which is approximately 8 miles away. You can enjoy a drink by the river at the Rose and Crown pub in Wivenhoe. For transportation, there is a bus service that picks up passengers at the top of the road, providing access to Colchester, Wivenhoe (including the University of Essex), Brightlingsea, and Clacton. Additionally, the train station is just a 10-minute walk away, offering direct trains to Colchester and London Liverpool Street, as well as routes towards the coast, including Frinton-on-Sea, Walton, and Clacton-on-Sea. Beth Chatto Gardens is only a 5-minute drive away from Elmstead Market.
