In a peaceful residential area of Windermere, this friendly guest house is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Bowness in the Lake District is a 10-minute walk away. Located between Windermere and Bowness, the 4-star Thornbank Guest House has free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. The homely en suite rooms feature flat-screen TV and tea/coffee facilities. Each room also features cake and biscuits. Guests have the use of Choices Gym, Spa and *Pool. This facility is situated 2 miles away and can be reached by bus. The extensive breakfast menu includes a choice of fruit, homemade jam and marmalade, a traditional cooked breakfast or continental and vegetarian options. Locally sourced produce is used.

Thornbank Guest House is owned and run by Jane and Mark Hibbitt. We moved from Derby in 2002 - to escape the rat race - and have been at Thornbank since then. We pride ourselves on the personal service we offer all our guests and are very grateful for all the fabulous reviews we get. A very warm welcome is assured at Thornbank House. The Health Club is now fully open and there is no need to book ahead. It is 2 miles away.

10 minutes walk to a wide variety of lovely shops and restaurants. 15 minutes walk to Lake Windermere. Local bus service runs between Windermere /Bowness/ Ambleside /Grasmere / Keswick. Taxi from the station to Thornbank House takes less than 5 minutes. Free parking on site and on Thornbarrow Rd outside Thornbank House. Local walks taking up to 2 hours allow spectacular views of the Lake District Fells and the Lake from Thornbank House. This is a very low crime area - it is very safe.

Guests can enjoy use of the spa and fitness facilities at the Choices Health Club, which is 2 miles from the property. There are complimentary passes for the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, solarium and gym.

Thornbank will keep your card details in case of any damage or policy breaches.

The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise the guarantee card up to the full amount of the booking.

The total room occupancy includes all children and infants. Room occupancy cannot be exceeded.

The free gym and spa is subject to availability, located 10 minutes drive from the property.
