This small terraced cottage is in the friendly village of Thornhill, a scenically short drive from the hiking, walking and biking trails of the Trossachs. Within the village there is small path network and two commons for dog walks or strolls. Thornhill is perfectly located to explore Stirling, Callander, Doune and the surrounding countryside, including Blairdrummond Safari Park. The village boasts a fabulous pub/restaurant serving good food.
Hello. I grew up in the village, studied in Edinburgh and then moved to London for work where I met my husband James. We then spent 15 years living and working in Singapore, before settling back here two renovate our home, which is beside the home I grew up in (the airbnb we run). I was a magazine editor/writer but now consider myself a community activist as I'm on too many committees to count on one hand!
My husband James and I will be your neighbours throughout your stay, so if there is anything you need, just ask.
Thornhill is a small, friendly village. The Main Street is 100 houses long with the smallest Masonic Lodge in Scotland at the top end and the Lion and Unicorn hotel at the bottom.
There is a village store for all your essentials, small network of paths for a walk and a children's play park on the South Common.
The cottage leads to the North Common, which has recently been named a Local Nature Conservation Site for its rich biodiversity.
Blair Drummond Safari Park is a 10-minute drive and Stirling 20 minutes away. We are between Edinburgh and Glasgow airports with a travel time of around 50 minutes to each.
The village is perfectly positioned to explore the Trossachs and Forth Valley.
There is a bus service into Stirling a few times a day but to enjoy the area you really need a car.
