Pauline and Dave have been hosting B&B guests for over 20 years, many of whom return year after year. We love to welcome our guests into a relaxed environment from which they can enjoy their stay and be as active or as 'chilled' as they wish. In addition to their spacious bedrooms, guests have their own spaces within the house like the lounge or the garden in which to spend an evening after a busy day.

Situated at the edge of Thropton village and accessed by a private lane, Thropton Demesne is a 200 year old stone-built former farmhouse. In addition to the Demesne being our family home we have offered B&B accommodation to many guests from all over the world since 2002. The property enjoys views over the Coquet Valley to the Simonside Hills beyond. Currently 3 houses have been built on adjoining land to the front of us which still allow views to the hills beyond. Former farm buildings to the rear of us are undergoing conversion, but the Demesne comfortably offers private and secluded accommodation for guests who wish to explore the beautiful Northumberland countryside and our world famous visitor attractions, such as Cragside (2 miles), Alnwick Castle (13 miles) and Hadrian's Wall (20 miles).

Thropton has a village pub, the Three Wheat Heads, a few minutes walk from us which serves excellent food. Thropton also has a Spar convenience store and Shell petrol station which is located opposite our entrance drive. Rothbury is 2 miles away and has a range of shops, including a Coop supermarket, chemist, doctors surgery, vets, restaurants and cafes and 3 pubs serving food.
