Fairy Cottage is the chance to have an experience of the victorian and the war time period. Set on the historical cobbles of Main Street, this cottage takes you back in time with many artefacts and vintage items for you to experience. We want you to to feel free to look at the items and really engage with life in a bygone time.
The living room with a single day bed is set in the 1800s, the double bedroom is set in the 1940s, there's a victoriana style bathroom and magical woodland kitchen with breakfast area overlooking the valley. There’s a newly finished balcony with valley views for you to sit and enjoy a quiet glass of wine.
We aim to transport you to a bigon era to enjoy a taste of a simpler life., so there is no TV or WIFI.
The cottage is mainly natural stone, slate & wood.
There are Tea/coffee facilities, towels and bedding provided. A welcome box and snack in the fridge to help you settle in.
But please note that we are not a hotel and do not replenish supplies during your stay.
*Please note that this is not a contemporary modern home and although the cottage is thoroughly cleaned daily, it is an old property dating back to 1860. It has stone and wood floors, so you will, (despite extensive dusting) get some level of dust.
**The property is staged to be a working old home, like a mini museum… so please note it is an experience property and if you book then you are choosing this sort of stay. Please do not then score low because you prefer there to be less items, a TV, WIFI or a shower. We would rather you only book if you have read the profile description and viewed all the pictures. We want people to come and stay and enjoy the cottage.
***So please come and enjoy the experience, as we want nothing more than to share our home for others to appreciate. We really do try our best and go the extra mile to ensure you are welcomed and have a unique experience.
As I'm sure you will see from the property, we love all things vintage. We enjoy a simpler time where modern technology and stressors were not a factor. We travel & many of our items have been collected from across the world aswell as some that are passed down through our family members. We hope to provide you with a unique experience of stepping back in time, where you can switch off & relax.
Our community is very close & very important to us. Haworth is a true family that look after each other, and for that reason, we ask that you respect our neighbours should you choose to stay at Fairy Cottage. We particularly request that you are quiet if coming in late or using the balcony.
The village is a protected area that takes you back in time with cobbled streets & Victorian buildings
There's plenty of unique shops with boutique, hand crafted & vintage items. We have some great restaurants, cafes & bars with live entertainment. We have a local ghost walk should you want to know more about the history of Haworth. We also have tarot reading available at Spooks. We have beautiful churches, one of which hosts a regular cinema night. There is a steam train if you fancy a unique ride to one of our local villages. There's some amazing walks & waterfalls if you enjoy the countryside. We have the Bronte Parsonage museum, which is where the Bronte sistes, famous for thier literature, grew up & the school house they attended.
