If you fancy stretching your legs and feeling salt air on your cheeks, Llanddona beach is less than a mile and a half down country lanes – so that hike back uphill will wear off the calories. Beaumaris is the nearest town, a 3-mile drive away and has a fantastic selection of pubs, restaurants, delis and independent shops, alongside a stunning medieval castle. Turn the other way and head towards Traeth Bychan and Red Wharf Bay for seaside meals or sand castles. Or onto Moelfre, a sleepy seaside village with great ice cream. Adventures await with the whole of Anglesey on your doorstep. Or, stay local, savour the peace at the picnic table and listen to the birds chirp.
