This is a unique property which was once a bakehouse for the local area but has now been fully converted into a one bedroom house with lots of interesting features, many of which are recycled vintage items. We try to combine luxury and sustainability: we use natural linen sheets which are line dried wherever possible, the bathroom and kitchen offer a choice of eco products and the waste bins offer guests a recycling option.

The house is in a quiet residential street beside Castle Park in the centre of the old part of Colchester. The entrance to Castle Park is on the same street. It is 5-10 minutes walk to Castle Museum, FirstSite arts centre and the High Street and shops and restaurants. 20 minutes walk from Colchester North railway station and 10 minutes walk from Colchester Town. A variety of buses on the High Street 5 minutes away. If you have a car then a short drive lets you sample Mersea Island and its beaches, crabbing and fresh fish, Wivenhoe, the university, Dedham and Flatford Mill and beautiful Hadleigh. There is no street parking except on Sundays, but there is a car park on the same street.
