On the edge of Burnmoor is the tiny hamlet of Tatham. High above the traditional Yorkshire market town of Bentham and overlooking The Great Stone, this wonderful hamlet is well-situated to see all of Lancashire and Yorkshire. The Great Stone of Fourstones itself is a relic from the Ice Age, standing on the boundary between counties and has become a notable feature of the landscape. From here it's possible to see the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales National Park and The Forest of Bowland, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visitors can use this wonderful little hamlet as a base for walking holidays across the famous three peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent whilst the less active may enjoy the range of amenities at nearby Bentham.
