Wild Valley Huts is nestled in Maengwynedd, a Welsh sheep farming valley. The valley is absolutely stunning, with luscious rolling fields and a meadering river running through it against a backdrop of the more rugged Berwyn Mountains. It is truely a location of no noise, no stress; just peace & quiet.
We have been here for 3 years since July 2021. We'd been on a huge house search and when we visited Wild Valley Huts, this was the one. That was a good job as it was house number 27 we looked at and we were beginning to lose motivation but seeing this inspired and excited us. We wanted to be here.
The scenery, views, nature & tranquility makes this place special. We didn't want to keep this hidden gem to ourselves but share it with others, with guests staying with us.
The accommodation is decorated to a high standard and made to give guests a cosy, homely feel. With wood burning stoves in the huts and underfloor heating in the bunkhouse no guest needs to worry about having a chilly stay. We provide fresh bedlinen and comfy blankets & cushions for a good nights sleep. Here there is no light pollution, just darkness; no noise, just hush - all the ingredients for guests to have a restful sleep.
Guest Comment: 'This really is a little slice of heaven.'
Hello and thank you for looking at our accommodation at Wild Valley Huts. Whether it be a shepherd Hut or the Wild Valley Bunkhouse you are looking at, we are delighted to welcome guests to stay & be immersed in the nature and scenery on our doorstep.
It's a place for adventurers or a relaxing countryside retreat and Graeme & I love both so can relate to guests wants and needs depending on the type of holiday they would like! Graeme is from Newcastle and loved (maybe too strong a word) took part in many triathalons, ironmans and swim/run events. Being a keen swimmer, he took part in outdoor swims but wasn't keen on the North Sea and prefers warmer waters of local lakes. I'm from Cheshire and loved running on anything but a road, hill, trail running were a passion. From Wild Valley Huts you are a stones throw away from all of these activities, walking & running in the Berwyn Hills and many places nearby, swimming in Bala Lake, cycling the scenic lanes or biking at the Revolution Park, only 20mins away.
We have two labradors, Maverick & Goose, and enjoy exploring with them in the rural and remote valleys. They like anywhere with water including the famous Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall 15 mins away, which is Britain's highest single drop waterfall at 80metres, Lake Vyrnwy with it's own beautiful waterfall & great for cycling or kayaking & paddle boarding.
On arrival we have no formal check in, guests let themselves in and make themselves feel at home. A key is left for their use during their stay.
Guests recieve a couple of useful emails prior to their arrival including what's on the area that may be of interest during their stay, information about the local area and recommendations of places to visit as well as directions to use for an easy journey. If guests have any questions, they can call or email and we're happy help.
Our neighbourhood is a small farming community. In the valley there are about 11 properties, which are mostly farms. The neighbours are friendly and helpful.
We have a 'Wild Valley Top 3 Recommendations' so guests can experience some of the highlights in and around the area. Here's a little peek:
