Woodbank House, built in 2002, sits along the route of a Victorian railway line and 500 m to the town of Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. The garden, which is not overlooked, benefits from great views across the valley and over the Sands Recreation ground though which the river flows. The studio apartment is on the lower ground floor of the main house accessed down some outdoor steps with its own entrance allowing guests to come and go as they please. Guests are free to use the lower section of the terraced garden.
Nigel and Rosie moved into Woodbank House at the start of 2018 from Oxfordshire. Nigel, a Civil Engineer, works from home and will be on hand for any queries. Rosie, having previously worked as a Geotechnical Engineer, is currently a full-time parent to two young sons. Also living at the house are two middle aged cats, Marmaduke and Pesto (note that the cats will not be permitted into the studio apartment).
The house is at the top of a private road with no through traffic and no housing opposite, making the property very private and quiet. There is a wooded area at the bottom of the garden housing many birds and you will see Blue Tits and Robins feeding in the morning and hear owls in the evening. Even though we are so secluded, we are only a short walk from the town centre with a supermarket just at the bottom of the road and pubs, cafes, shops and a bus station all being in close proximity.
