Woodlands is one of the oldest surviving houses in Teignmouth, a unique building which retains many of its original features. Our guests love our curved gothic staircase and hall and our spacious dining room and lounge, all lovingly decorated, not from a hotel supply catalogue, but in keeping with the age and style of the house. Guests are welcome to enjoy our veranda which curves around the bays of the house, the large garden, conservatory and gazebo too. Woodlands has only two ensuite double bedrooms, both of which have a view of the sea, so we are a peaceful alternative to busy hotels. Each room has a private bathroom with free luxury toiletries, a TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a mini fridge. We aim to provide all the modern conveniences possible for our guests’ comfort, without spoiling the unique charm of the house. Breakfast is included and served in our elegant dining room and we offer free parking and excellent free Wi-Fi and we are dog friendly too, just let us know before you book.

About the property - Woodlands has passed through three generations of the same family since 1966, so we know something about making guests feel welcome. We live on site so are close enough to help should you need anything but the house is big enough that your privacy is never encroached upon. Many of our guests have been returning to us for decades, we hope you will join them.

About the neighborhood - Whether your preference is for a beach getaway, a countryside retreat or an active adventure, Woodlands is the perfect base for you. We are a short walk from the centre of Teignmouth with its two beaches and independent shops, pubs and restaurants. We are on the South West Coast path, ideal for more active ramblers and we are surrounded by the world renowned Devon countryside which is full of charming villages to visit. We are a short walk to the station and a short train ride on the scenic Riviera line will take you to the historic city of Exeter, and Dartmoor, and all its natural beauty, is only a short drive away.
