Welcome to the most impressive, late Middle Age Fortress-Village Khakhabo! You will be hosted by the single dweller of the village - Paata and his wife - Nino. He rebuilt the ruins by himself with traditional dry stone technique. They take care of a small farm and try to revive the unique village of the region. Guests can enjoy local cuisine, masterclases and outdoor activity as a horse riding, trekking. You will have an opportunity to visit local material and cultural heritages, including fortress towers, sanctuaries. As a matter of fact, the cross-sanctuaries date back to the prehistoric age, although most of them have been destroyed and are only partially preserved. These ancient ruins give one an idea of the history and the material and spiritual culture of the region. Of interest are the natural phenomena, which are used as shrines and are regarded as sacred places. These shrines have made it possible to preserve forest and unique ecosystems within a rather vast territory of highlands. Locals banned hunting in sacred groves, felling trees and even mowing grass was banned.
