Welcome to our Garden retreat. It is Our Garden in West Africa Double Gated with 24 hours Security Person. The super big pool lures blue and clean (length 10.5m long, width bewteen 4.8 and 6.8m, 2.2m deep on one and 1.1m at the other side). Here, in our "Self Catering Accommodation", we Celebrate Life and give back to the Community. The location is somewhat off the main tourist areas, situated in an authentic Gambian village. We advise taking a driver in case you want to get around beyond the village. We offer transport at a small additional fee. The driver can be there for you for a full day . One of the main features of our Compound is the Garden. It is a space of flowers, bushes and trees as well as a habitat for a Myriade of little animals and insects. Many of them can be observed or heard, especially the birds. So, if you don’t feel like beach or hiring a guide for the day, just relax there.

We are Christian and Keith, two guys from Hannover, Germany. When we are not there, Fransu Sillah is our guy "on the ground". Fransu is our man for everything, from watchman to pool boy. Most importantly, he is your concierge. He was born and raised in Sanyang so he knows it inside and out and is well connected and can make things happen. Just ask. Fransu can do a lot, from little errands, which make life easy, to bringing really fresh fish from the fishing village, organizing a taxi or a tour. He knows the secret spots which "ordinary" tourists would never find. We have arranged a little pricing and fee list to give you orientation and a feeling for what things and services cost - and we guarantee that they will be unmatched competitive as compared to what "ordinary" customers are charged.

There are two beaches, one down the Sanyang Fishing Village Rd, the other down the How Ba Rd. The former leads to a somewhat touristic area with several beach bars and resturants. The latter ends at a beach which is more local, very beautiful and actually our favourite one. There is a beach restaurant as well, the "Happy Corner". Along How Rd there are several mini-shops which offer daily grocery stuff and / or vegetables. You can get everything you need including the really delicious baguette (baked by very small local bakeries; must besomething which came from Senegal which used to be a Frenc colony). As said, you may also ask our guy on the ground, to get them for you. Near by at How Ba Rod is Pandora Lodge Pool Bar, a place can have dinner or lunch. Outside Sanyang to the North (beyond Tanje) is the outstanding Tanje Village Museum. It shows local fauna and flora, historical craft work like weaving as well as historic living tradition. It is privately run and attended by really devoted people.
