Filaretos was born and raised in the heart of the Thessaly plain. However, from a very young age he felt a longing for the sea. He studied Economics in Athens, worked for years as a marketing executive, but in the end he chose to become a hotelier in Tsagarada, a mushroom hunter, a forager and organic farmer. He likes to talk to his plants when he waters them and to hug trees in the forest. He enjoys talking to old women about cooking. He has been with Marianna for 37 years and they have a son, Nikos, and a daughter, Zoe. Lately he has been feeling that he has more doubts than certainties. Nevertheless, he keeps planting trees.
住宿信息
AMANITA is situated in a truly privileged location between mountain and sea on the eastern slopes of Mt. Pelion in the genteel village of Tsagarada.
The buildings of the guesthouse are located in a 3.500 sq.m. organic garden, consisting of a herb garden, an orchard and a kitchen garden.
AMANITA Guesthouse is the ideal destination for relaxation and detoxification from the hectic modern life-style, in an elegant and charming surrounding with homey ambiance and personal care. Our aim is to offer to our guests a real “Mt. Pelion experience”, by putting them in touch with local history, gastronomy and culture. Our famous breakfast is creatively inspired by local gastronomy and makes use of organic fruit and vegetable from our garden as well as products of small local producers.
Our guests have easy access to some of the most beautiful beaches of the Aegean and may join us in our walking tours around the forest and along the beaches, where we collect wild fruits, herbs and mushrooms. Workshops are regularly held by Marianna and Filaretos in the garden of the guesthouse, about identifying herbs and using them for culinary and medicinal purposes.
