Stylish, peaceful 70 sq met panoramic view house built on rock overlooking the Icarian blue sea. Smooth rocky and small sandy beach below. For an authentic Greek island experience tourist free, Karkinagri is a simple small fishing village situated in the southern part of the island. It is idyllically located between vertical montainsides. Sleeps 2+2. Spacious fully equipped, traditional kitchen, bathroom with walk in shower. Tastefully decorated even from within the house you can view the sea and sailing boats. The terrance outside overlooks the Icarian sea and has table and chairs. The terrace is not very private since friendly locals use it as a walking path and like to greet.

I am a Greek having been educated & raised in South Africa. The house in Karkinagri in the earlier days was used as a customs house, it was brought by my grandparents and in the later years was restored and renovated by me with love and care. The highlight of the house is that its built on a rock facing the sea, its romantic with endless sea-view and quite zen. I wake up hearing the gush of waves and enjoy swimming below the house and buy fresh fish from the village. My aim is to build healthy relationships with my hosts since its important that they feel comfortable and happy during their stay.

You will find a booklet with useful information and sightseeing in the house. In Karkinagri, you will find 2-3 tavernas with local food and all day cafeterias. There is a supermarket but if one has special needs then you should prepare beforehand because the supermarket is limited . Karkinagri is of wild natural beauty, a getaway, and is offered for relexation, while one can explore the island by car. Throughout summer there are various festivals (panighiri) held with authentic local music, dancing and food. You can reach the island by plane from Athens and then drive to Karkinagri (abt 2 hrs drive). You need to book a car to wait at airport. Alternatively, you can reach by ferry "Hellenic Seaways" from Piraeus and it takes 6 hrs to reach the port of Evdilos (Ikaria). The scenery is spectacular and roads are paved (except only in small sections).
